The floodwater swamped the residential area that located at RW 07 and 08, Pejaten Timur Urban Village, Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta, Saturday (3/5) due to overflowing waters of Ciliwung River. The water level reaches 25-150 cm.

Anto, (37), one of citizens said, water began to hit the residential at around 2 AM. 

"The distance between my home with the river is about 10 m. The current water level reaches adult chest. But I do not take refuge because my house has three floors," said a man who has been lived since 1996.

He continued that locals got information about floodwater from RT/RW caretaker before flood comes. "It won't last long, maybe will recede within two hours," he stated.

RT 17/07 Chairman, Nanang (48) said the number of flood victim is around 20 households. But they prefer to stay in their house or fled to the higher land.

"There has been no evacuation so far. In RT 05/08, the number of flood victims is 75-80 households. This is just prediction," he told.

Relaying on Beritajakarta.com, some citizens are seen busy to clean up mud in their house and the others still stay in the house due to flood.
